8th Graders Attend Confirmation Retreat

On Saturday, November 14th the 8th grade Confirmation candidates traveled by bus to the Columban Retreat Center in Bellevue and participated in a day long retreat to help prepare for their Confirmation in February.  Led by Tom Murray, director of the Archbishop Curtiss Youth Camp, and accompanied by Mrs. Rookstool, Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Cunningham and  a group of high school retreat leaders, they learned more about the commitment they will be making when they are confirmed.  Group activities, outdoor hiking to the grotto and cross, and lunch made this a great day for all.

Food Drive for the Hungry

During November the Student Congress sponsored a food drive for the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry.  The race was on to see which room would bring in the most canned/boxed items for the needy.  Over 3,000 food items were donated with the two top rooms, 7B and 8B, receiving a dress down day for their efforts.  However, the biggest winners will be those who benefit from the food collected.  Way to go, students!

Students Participate in River City Roundup

After weeks of practice with Mrs. Hall, all the students in Holy Cross promenaded across the street to Mercy High School's gym to sing and dance.  Parents and guests even joined in!  A special thanks to Mercy for sharing their wonderful space with us!
